So uhhh, here goes nothing...

Hi! I’m Emily, the brains behind Project: Soul Food.
I’ve done a pretty shitty job of introducing myself and staying in touch lately.
But that’s about to change.
Let's start with a quick little origin story.
If you follow @projectsoulfood on Instagram, you may have heard a bit of this already. But read on, I promise it'll be entertaining.
[WARNING: I have a tendency to ramble.]

So. In March 2020, I began doodling some uplifting quotes and happy thoughts in my sketchbook every morning. For me, it was the perfect creative outlet to keep spirits high during the early days of the pandemic.

Fast forward a few months, and that sketchbook has evolved into a full-blown passion project, aptly called Project: Soul Food.

I realized that the intersection of design, writing and good vibes is...

I intentionally put email on the back burner (until now) for a few reasons:

First of all, emails can be mind-numbingly boring. I would know, as I spent five years as an email marketing manager in a former life (deep in that corporate pantsuit bullshit, bleeckkkk).

But to be fair, it was the disdain for that job that ultimately led me to where I am now, a freelancer and serial side hustler. So shout-out to 25-year-old depressed cubicle Emily… she'd be so proud of how far I've come.

Note: Are you confused right now? I turn all of my emails into blog posts. It's good for SEO and shit. What are you still doing reading this?? Go here to sign-up for Project: Soul Food emails. Guaranteed LOLs or your money back.

Anyway, I finally have some major news to share that felt *email-worthy*

Drumroll.......

Our Official Grand Opening is:

🎉  Thursday, June 3, 2021  🎉

PS: If you're wondering why I chose Thursday, June 3, 2021, it's 100% so that our one-year anniversary party will be on a Friday night next year.

No, I'm not kidding. Yes, you're all invited. Open bar.

If you've made it this far down and are still reading, then either you're a big fan of meme culture, or you are literally my mom.

Either way, I can't wait for you to see what I've been building, and pouring my heart and soul (hehe) into over the past few months.

Save the Date: June 3, 2021

XOXO, Em
