Giving the People What They Want

Giving the People What They Want

Published
Hey friends, it’s me (Em), back at it again.
I wasn’t sure how long it would take me to get a second email out, but after the rave reviews of my first one, I figured I’d give the people what they want.
(If you missed that first email, start here instead.)
PS: Can you do a PS in the beginning? Whatever I'm doing it. PS: These emails will never have any pre-determined schedule, or boring “Weekly Update” or “May 2021 Newsletter” title. Woof.
Instead, I promise to reserve this valuable inbox real estate for when I have something good enough to say. Pinky promise.

So, it's time for me to fess up.

Here's the truth. While our grand opening is still 10 days away, a few of you already got a sneak peek at the shop (since it was live the entire time that I was building it over the past few months).

Shoutout to the real OGs who bought something then, when I didn’t even have shipping or return policies or any of that shit in place lollll. You wild.

But seriously, I appreciate the support. In fact, I wish I had a cash register so I could slap up a crusty $1 bill behind it, in honor of you.

Anyway, speaking of #1 customers, quick detour.

My mom told me to include a picture of my face so people could connect with me better. I told her not to be so narcissistic. But this is what I look like:

That's me around 5:30am on top of Doe Mountain in Sedona, Arizona.

If you've never been to Sedona, add it to your bucket list ASAP. I'm here for a few weeks with friends who all work remotely and we've been doing equal amounts of working, hiking and drinking wine. Highly recommend.

I planned the shop's launch purposely during this trip to hold me accountable so that the working-to-wine ratio didn't get out of hand.

Anyway, if you missed the big announcement last week, here it goes again:

Project: Soul Food is evolving into an online shop full of t-shirts, stickers, tote bags, posters and other goodies!

Our Official Grand Opening is Thursday, June 3, 2021 🥳

It’s not even fully off the ground yet, and I’ve already had so much fun building this small business.

To my friends, family and total internet strangers that have already given me so much support, I seriously appreciate you all SO MUCH!

I can't wait for you to see it. Just 10 days to go!

XOXO, Em
